Jay Stauffer, MD, MA, FACS, Diplomat American Board of Surgery, Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery, UT Health San Antonio and Clinical Professor of Surgery Texas Tech University HSC, Lubbock

Dr. Stauffer has been in practice for 30 years.  19 years in Fredericksburg, Texas.  He is also a 20 year Navy Veteran. He has also completed a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio.  He has served on national cancer programs and has published in the cancer and minimally invasive surgical field.  He also teaches a Rural Surgery Course for 4th year medical students.  He brings to Fredericksburg, Texas state of the art Surgical Cancer care as well as the entire array of General Surgical expertise.

He serves at Saint Thomas Orthodox Church in Fredericksburg, Texas as a Deacon.

He serves as the Assistant Scout Master for Troop 351 Trail Life USA.

Our Practice

 

Hill Country General and Oncology Surgery Associates  is led by Dr. Jay Stauffer who has over 30 years of surgical experience.  He did his undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin. Medical School Training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. His residency training was completed at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.  He went on to finish his training with a Clinical and Research Oncology Fellowship also at UTHSC San Antonio.  He has been in Fredericksburg , TX since 1999. He continues to teach medical students in his Rural Surgery Rotation.

Our practice provides surgical services to the entire Hill Country of Texas including Fredericksburg and the surrounding communities.  In addition we serve patients from Kerrville, Junction, Mason, Blanco, Brady and others.  Dr. Stauffer has a satellite clinic in Brady, Texas to which he goes every other week and has been doing so since  1999.

All aspects of General Surgery are part of his practice.

Defeat Colon Cancer.

Colon Cancer is the only cancer that we can almost totally prevent.  If you or a loved one is 50 or over be sure and schedule a screening colonoscopy. If a polyp, which is a growth in the colon, is found it can easily be removed thus preventing it from growing into a colon cancer.
